Contents Page 2: Q Magazine
This
is a very attractive and creative contents page, not only by itself but against
all the other ones I will be looking at. As a magazine Q have chosen to get rid
of the traditional conventions by having their contents page be across a double
page, what I really like about the contents page is the scrapbook style it is
set out like. They use a mix of Black and White pictures along with some that
are full of colour they are all in different positions and spaces with the
content listed being on the two sides. They also have large numbers next to the
pictures so you can easily find out where each picture links to which makes it
even easier for the reader to see what is on each page inside the magazine.
They also have the front cover in the top right corner next to the issue
number. Having an issue number is an effective way for people who collect the
magazine or buy every issue to know which one they have and are reading. The
numbers used are very helpful for the reader but some numbers are a lot bigger
than the others, I feel like this is to show which stories are the more
important stories. Red is a very clear part of the brand and house style and
not only is it the colour that you think of when you think about Q as a brand
but it also helps each page and item stand out as Red is a hugely bright and
loud colour. I like how although the pages are busy there east to understand
and easy to, there are definitely some ideas they have used I will want to use
in my contents page.
