Contents Page 5: NME Magazine
The
final contents page I will be looking at is from the UK publication NME. The magazine
which is mainly rock/pop has a completely different themed contents page to any
other I have looked at. At the top of the page rather than contents they use
'Inside this week' creating a more friendlier approach this is wrote as if the
reader and the magazine are friends and the magazine are saying look what we
have for you this time. The colour's used stick to there house style of being
slightly newspaper themed as the material it is printed on is the same a
newspaper is. This adds to the individuality of NME and relates to the black
large headlines and black writing you would commonly see on a newspaper. The
only colour on the page is that of the pictures which are describing the
different articles that are inside the issue, although they stand out the main centered picture, being obviously shown as more important due to its size and spacing is
also in black and white compared to the smaller coloured photos. This matches
with the headline about it and the other information on the page. Most of the
descriptions of different pieces of content in the magazine feature a quote;
this will interest the reader in what the article is about. The same font is
used throughout the page however some text is in Italics, some in Bold and some
just Normal text. Next to each of the pictures
is a bold number showing where the reader can find out more information about
the article, this is something I may use in my contents page as I have seen it
used across numerous contents pages I have researched.
