Analysis of Front Cover - 5

Front Cover 5: Top of the Pops - Cher Lloyd
The final front cover I am looking at is from the UK magazine ‘Top of the Pops’, a magazine made for Children/Early teens it bases itself on current pop stars who are loved by their younger audience. As it is a magazine for children you can easily see the difference between the more risqué content that could be used on other magazine and the more happy clean content that is used on this one. The front cover is a picture of teen talent show star ‘Cher Lloyd’ who is seen to be wearing a blue top, jacket and looking slightly over her shoulder into the camera.  For the first time the model is underneath the brand name which could be because a younger audience by a magazine for the brand rather than just buying it on the odd occasion. They also advertise freebies that are available to readers who purchase the magazine, this is an effective way of increasing the amount of people who purchase your publication and could be thought about when creating my own magazine cover. The colour scheme is simple with a lot of pink and purple it is obviously seen to be aimed more towards the female market. There logo is very clever and stands out straight away on the page against all the other content. Different fonts are used throughout along with different designs and set outs of pieces of information which makes the overall look feel more childish and closer to the target market it is trying to address.
